       PROGRAM OVERVIEW

MAAC’s Residential Collaborative is a network of nine non-profit member agencies and over 15 contract agencies who are united in their mission of helping at-risk youth successfully transition into adulthood. We create a customized approach for each individual in our care, which could include assessments, intensive psychiatric treatment, adoptions, residential group home placement, maternity care, therapeutic foster care, and more.

       EFFECTIVENESS

The Residential Collaborative works because it features a hands-on, case-by-case approach to helping the kids and families in our care. Because we have such a strong partnership with each of the nine agencies in our network, we can just pick up the phone, talk openly with one another, and work together to find the best solution for each child and family referred to us.

Our approach enjoys a high rate of success. In 2012, for example, we served 382 youth through the Residential Collaborative. During that time, we had 140 discharges, with 52 to permanent settings (ie adoption, reunification, and independent living). Seeing these youth go on to start productive, self-sufficient adult lives is a great source of personal and professional pride for our team here at MAAC.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RESIDENTIAL COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM?

The Residential Collaborative receives referrals from Georgia’s Department of Child and Family Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice. We accept referrals from agencies across the entire State of Georgia.
